Lokum

Introduction: Homme Sweeet Homme likes eating all sorts of savory and sweet food except LOKUMs, do you wanna know why? Just scroll down after the recipe and you’ll find out ( – ;

Ingredients:Lokum 1

25 gr Icing sugar

100 gr Corn flour

700 gr Caster sugar

Juice of 1 lemon

3 tbsp Powdered gelatine

Red or pink coloring – optional

2 tbsp Rose water

Recipe: Line a square baking pan with a cling film. Sift icing sugar and 25g of the corn flour into a small bowl. Sprinkle a little over the base and sides of the pan. Now put caster sugar, lemon juice and 400ml water into large pan. Heat gently until dissolved – do not boil. In a small bowl, mix the remaining corn flour with 100ml cold water, and then stir into sugar syrup. Sprinkle gelatine over liquid and whisk to break up lumps. Bring to boil, then simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes, whisking often. The mixture should thicken and turn pale yellow. Remove from heat and add a little food coloring to turn mixture into light pink (optional). Set aside for 5 min. Stir in rose water and pour into the pan you prepared at the beginning. Leave to set in a cool place overnight. The day after cut into cubes, and then roll each gently in corn flour mixture to coat. You can sprinkle with icing sugar.

Dedicated to: all those men who look so sweeeeeet outside and who are so inconsistent inside exactly like lokums. That’s why I don’t like lokums: every time I am about to eat one I think that it is going to be super sweet, then I chew this gelly thing and… nothing… it doesn’t even taste nice, it is just a piece of plastic with 1000 calories ) – :

This is the same effect a lokum-man (also called the “I would love but I can’t”-man) has on me.

Have you ever met one of those? Like Mr Jell-o, they tell you “I would like to offer you the stars, but I also fuck your best friend so I can’t” or “I would like to bring you to see Opera in Wien, but I have a terrible headhache today”, or even “I would like to have a baby with you, but then our friendship would be spoiled”….

C’mon Lokum-men, just be more honest with us and with yourself and just SHUT UP instead of promising the world and then leave us hanging… Aaaaah, bitterness please go awaaaaaaay
